DONINGTON PARK TRACK DAY - LAST MINUTE PROBLEMS!!! - AUDI A5 3.0 TDI QUATTRO PROJECT

Back on the track...

After regaining the full potential of the A5 (Part 18 Blog) we wanted to get it back on the track and see how much and where we had improved.

Apart from Spa and the Nurburging, the only other track we had driven in the A5 was Donington Park, so we booked on an evening session with Circuit Days and prepped the car.

It wasn't until the day before when we realised we had quite a big problem with the gearbox! Not entirely sure of the cause we applied a temporary fix and sent it anyway.

Overall the evening went well and the A5 performed brilliantly on its new Yokohama A052 Rubber, it was also a great opportunity to test the Ibiza and let off some steam in the BMW M4!

The VBOX showed an ideal lap time of 1:20.25, and this was on the first session. With some more time in the car, we know it could have gone into the 1:19s, not to be sniffed at, considering one of the M4s, with quite a few mods, was doing 1:18s!
