CAD Engineer / Design Engineer

Job Purpose

This role would suit a CAD Engineer / Design Engineer with experience, Ideally in the Automotive sector. CAM Experience would be a huge benefit. This is a great opportunity to work alongside experienced Machinists and Fabricators. There is a genuine opportunity to grow within a company where your efforts will be not only noticed but rewarded.

The successful candidate will complement our existing design team, producing 2D and 3D drawings for in-house manufacturing.The role will be based at our office facility within Darkside Developments. This work includes reverse engineering of factory hardware, creating the drawings required to manufacture, producing documentation to aid future manufacture, specifying materials, assisting the machine shop and final quality control before the goods can be booked into stock.

Knowledge gaps can be filled, and ideally we are looking for someone who can bring something new to the team.

You will need to be able to work effectively as part of a close knit team, be highly motivated and organised with great attention to detail and an ambitious nature.

Workshop Mechanic

Job Purpose

The Workshop Technician will maintain the daily functionality of the Darkside Developments Service Workshop. Liaising with the Workshop Controller to ensure daily workflows and targets are achieved. To do this you will also work closely with Fabrication and Parts and Dispatch departments to ensure fluidity towards achieving our goal of exceptional customer service.

Role Benefits

  • Salary £20,000 - £30,000 (Depending on Experience)

Duties and Responsibilities

Check the daily task list.

  • Ensure task lists are checked daily and regular to maintain direction and consistency whilst minimise priority errors and maximising productivity.
  • Ensure all completed jobs are ticked off and cleared regularly and daily once complete.

Wide range of duties include.

  • All levels of interval services to VWG and BMW vehicles, first service to full timing belt service.
  • All levels of MOT work, includes brake disc and pads, clutches and flywheels, turbos and intercoolers, exhausts, suspension springs and dampers, wheel bearings and drivetrain supports and bushes. 
  • Full fitment of Darkside Development upgraded turbo kits and accessories.
  • Research and Development work on company owned vehicles. Track Car and Drag Car. Duties will include working with original OEM specifications software and upgraded hardware to working with full stand alone units and custom hardware. Leading the way in the diesel performance tuning industry.

Liaise with the Workshop Service Manager

  • For direction and priority of your daily task lists.

Support Apprentices if and when needed. Liaise with the Fabrication Unit and Lead Fabricator.

  • To develop itinerary and products. Feedback on current hardware range and also to develop new lines currently being tested.

Liaise with the Powertrain Calibration and Development Engineer.

  • To work with the Powertrain Calibration and Development Engineer when fitting a “Darkside Customer Turbo Kit” or any form of performance enhancing hardware that will require a software upgrade to operate to their full potential. All levels of hardware upgrades need to be disclosed, feedback to the Powertrain Calibration and Development Engineer and support given if any form of insight can be shared to produce the best possible outcome for the customer.
  • To develop itinerary and products. Feedback on current software packages with the aim to develop new lines currently being tested.

Qualifications and Attributes

Qualifications

Education

  • GCSE Grades, C or higher in English and Maths.

Working Conditions

Race Car Technician/Mechanic

Job Purpose

The Race Car Technician will maintain the fleet of Darkside Developments Race and Track Cars. Liaising with the Workshop Service Manager to ensure all vehicles are prepared to the highest standard in time for each race meeting. To do this you will also work closely with Tuning, Fabrication, Parts and Dispatch departments to ensure fluidity towards achieving our goal of successive victories.

Role Specifics

Salary £20,000 - £30,000 (Depending on Experience) Will involve weekend work and late nights to meet unmovable deadlines

Duties and Responsibilities

Check Daily Task List - Ensure task list’s are checked daily and regular to maintain direction and consistency whilst minimise priority errors and maximising productivity. Ensure all completed jobs are ticked off and cleared regularly and daily once complete.

Wide range of duties include - Research and Development work on company owned vehicles. Track Car and Drag Car.

Pre and Post Racing Van and Equipment Organisation - Testing and racing requires a substantial amount of equipment and spares, this requires organisation and forward planning.

Bodyshop Panel Beater

Job Purpose

Darkside Paint and Body Ltd have a brand new setup with large Raised Floor Spray booth and all the latest equipment to tackle any job. We are looking for a keen and willing Panel Beater / Stripper Fitter to join our team. The role will involve the repair of bodywork, as well as stripping down cars in preparation for paint, then rebuild afterwards.

All equipment is supplied
