- Selected MTS Technik coilovers for VAG and BMW applications
What Is MTS Technik?
MTS Technik is a Polish suspension manufacturer with roots in the European car tuning scene. The business began in 2005 under the VenomCarZ name, initially supplying tuning parts and accessories before moving towards developing its own performance suspension. In 2008, MTS Technik was established as a dedicated suspension brand, with coilover kits becoming a central part of its range.
Now operating under Nord Performance, MTS Technik remains a family-run business focused on producing affordable suspension without cutting corners on development or component quality. Its coilover kits are designed for individual vehicle applications, with different configurations available to suit everything from everyday road use to more substantial lowering.
The company holds ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management system and is registered with Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) as a sport suspension manufacturer.
MTS Technik Coilovers
MTS Technik has developed its coilover range around the problems drivers can encounter with aftermarket suspension, particularly corrosion, seized adjustment collars, and maintaining consistent performance over time.
- Eibach Springs: Most MTS Technik coilover kits feature springs manufactured by German suspension specialist Eibach, a company with over 60 years of experience supplying springs for road cars and motorsport. Their use of high-grade steel and precise manufacturing tolerances helps deliver consistent spring characteristics and long-term durability.
- hexaCOIL Spring Perches: Developed over more than two years of research and testing, MTS Technik's hexaCOIL design tackles the problem of seized spring adjustment collars. Fitted to most kits, the design helps prevent the adjustment mechanism from binding.
- Golden Zinc Corrosion Protection: Steel components are treated with a golden zinc coating to help protect against rust and corrosion, while aluminium components receive a black anodised finish, for road cars exposed to wet conditions and road salt throughout the year.
- Threaded Ride-Height Adjustment: The threaded adjustment system allows you to raise or lower the vehicle within the limits of the specific kit. This gives you more freedom to set the wheel-to-arch clearance without being restricted to a single fixed lowering height.
- Developed Damper Characteristics: MTS Technik uses engineering calculations, laboratory testing and road testing to develop its shock absorbers. The damping characteristics are designed to accommodate the Comfort, Street and Stance configurations without requiring a different shock absorber for each series.
MTS Technik Coilover Series
MTS Technik offers three configurations, each developed for a different balance of lowering and suspension firmness.
- Comfort Series: Suited to road-driven cars where improved handling and adjustable lowering are wanted without making the suspension unnecessarily firm.
- Street Series: MTS Technik's recommended all-round setup, offering a wider lowering range and a firmer suspension feel while retaining everyday usability.
- Stance Series: Intended for drivers looking for more substantial lowering and stiffer suspension characteristics, particularly when achieving a closer wheel-to-arch fitment is the priority.

Why We Recommend MTS Technik
“When choosing coilovers, it's easy to focus on how low they'll take the car and overlook what happens after they've been fitted. Adjustment collars can seize, corrosion can build up around the threads, and what should be a simple ride-height change becomes a much bigger job.
That's where MTS Technik has put some thought into its suspension. The hexaCOIL spring perches are designed to tackle seized adjustments, while the golden zinc coating helps protect the steel components from corrosion. Having Eibach springs in most kits is another plus, as spring quality plays a big part in how consistently the suspension behaves.
We also like the choice between Comfort, Street and Stance. Not every car needs a particularly stiff or heavily lowered setup, and being able to choose suspension around how the car is actually driven makes much more sense.”

MTS Technik FAQs
Are MTS Technik coilovers good for VW and Audi models?
MTS Technik offers coilover kits for a wide range of Volkswagen and Audi models, including popular Golf, Polo, A3 and A4 applications. The range provides adjustable lowering for drivers looking to improve suspension control or achieve a more aggressive stance without moving straight into expensive motorsport suspension.
Choosing the right kit depends on the vehicle's generation, drivetrain, suspension configuration and axle loads. At Darkside, we recommend checking these details before ordering, as different versions of the same model may require different coilovers. Get in touch if you need assistance selecting the right one.
What is the difference between lowering springs and coilovers?
- Lowering springs replace the factory springs to give your car a fixed reduction in ride height, usually retaining the original dampers where compatible.
- Coilover kits replace both the springs and dampers with a matched suspension setup that allows ride height to be adjusted.
MTS Technik coilovers use threaded adjustment, giving you greater control over how the car sits and the ability to make further changes within the kit's specified lowering range.
How do you adjust MTS Technik coilovers?
MTS Technik coilovers use threaded height adjustment, allowing the spring perch or designated height-adjustment mechanism to be moved within the permitted range using the appropriate adjustment tools.
The hexaCOIL spring perch fitted to most kits is designed to reduce problems with seized adjustment collars, making future changes easier. Always follow the installation instructions for your specific kit, ensure the suspension is safely unloaded where required, and have the wheel alignment checked after altering the ride height.
Can Darkside Developments fit MTS Technik coilovers?
Yes. We offer professional coilover installation through our in-house workshop, with our team able to advise on the correct MTS Technik kit for your vehicle.
We also recommend a wheel alignment after installation to ensure the suspension geometry is checked following the change in ride height.

Need Help Choosing the Right MTS Technik Coilovers?
Choosing the right MTS Technik coilovers involves more than checking your vehicle model. Axle loads, drivetrain layout and suspension variations can affect compatibility, while the choice between Comfort, Street and Stance depends on how you use the car and the amount of lowering you want.
At Darkside Developments, we can help you check the available kits for your vehicle and choose a setup that suits your requirements. We also offer professional installation through our in-house workshop.
