Upgraded Propshaft / Driveshaft Centre Support Bearing Carrier for Volkswagen Transporter T5 / T6

After fitting this upgrade to one of our own vans, we immediately noticed a great difference and high increase in driveability

The stock centre support bearing carrier holds the propshaft in place with rubber so thin about 20 lbs of force moves it from centre to the end of its travel. While thats great for making sure no noise, vibration or harshness makes its way in to the cabin, the stock bush is extremely prone to fail, especially in harsher climates and on higher powered vehicles. Even on the best kept cars, the stock rubber bushing dry rots and cracks by the time it’s 10 - 15 years old. When the bushing lets go, it leads to excessive vibrations and clunking which can damage the transmission and rear diff. To make matters worse, the stock carrier is molded onto the center support bearing, leading to costly propshaft replacement.

This upgraded unit keeps the propshaft firmly in place at all times, and its solid construction ensures it will never wear out. The thick bushings ensure the propshaft cannot move from center, maintaining propshaft alignment at all times.

INSTALLATION METHODS:

Installation does not require disassembly of the propshaft. The 2-part design clamps around the OEM bearing. The old carrier must be removed, so a cutting tool is required. This carrier is designed to avoid interference with the factory heat shields, so it has no effect on exhaust clearance.

PLEASE NOTE:

This kit requires you to use the original propshaft bearing that is on the vehicle

SWB / LWB (PLEASE CHECK HOW MANY CARRIERS ARE FITTED TO THE VEHICLE):

SWB - The Short Wheelbase (AND SOME LWB) Vans only have 1x Prop Carrier. If you select this option you will receive 1x Carrier with required bushes & fittings

LWB - The Long Wheelbase Vans (AND SOME SWB) have x2 Prop Carriers (x1 Front & x1 Rear). If you select this option you will receive 2x Carriers with required bushes & fittings

BUSH OPTIONS:

PLEASE NOTE - This carrier is ONLY available with 'Track' Bushes. The Street Bushes are too soft for these models

YOU MUST CHECK HOW MANY CARRIERS ARE FITTED TO YOUR VEHICLE. MAJORITY OF SWB VANS WILL ONLY HAVE ONE CARRIER AND MAJORITY OF LWB VANS WILL HAVE TWO CARRIERS. IN SOME CASES HOWEVER THIS WILL VARY ACROSS MODELS
