Donington GP - 21st September 2019 - Round 5 - MSV Trackday Championship
Round 4 of the MSV Trackday Championship took us back to Brands Hatch on the excellent GP Layout. You can read about it here.
Round 5 was supposed to be on the GP Layout at Donington, but due to an issue with the number of marshals, the event was switched back to the usual National configuration, one we were victorious at in the first race of the season.
The layout is below:
So with the last minute change from the GP to National layout, our testing on the Monday before was thrown out of the

Brands Hatch GP - 31st August 2019 - Round 4 - MSV Trackday Championship
Round 3 of the MSV Trackday Championship was a VERY wet Oulton Park, where we finished 1st in Class! You can read about it here. We then had a go in the MSV Trackday Trophy on the Silverstone GP Circuit, which you can read about here. Spoiler alert, we finished 2nd after getting our first ever Pole Position!
Round 4 was supposed to be on the Silverstone National Circuit, but with the resurfacing before the British F1 and Moto GP rounds, it was moved to Brands Hatch, on the GP Circuit that is r

Silverstone GP - 18th August 2019 - Round 5 - MSV Trackday Trophy
If you hate reading then scroll right to the bottom to view our VLOG of the weekend....
We had a great result in the TDC at a very wet Oulton Park, which you can read about it here. Round 5 of the MSV Trackday Trophy, brought us to Silverstone, on the iconic GP Circuit, the same as you see the Formula 1 and Moto GP at. Unfortunately we won't be lapping anywhere near as quick as them!
As it is a World Class circuit, we get detailed analysis of sector times and speeds. Sector 1 takes us from th

Oulton Park - 27th July 2019 - Round 3 - MSV Trackday Championship
Round 2 of the MSV Trackday Championship, took us to Snetterton, a weekend we would rather forget. You can read about it here. With all the issues sorted, we decided to take the car for a shakedown at Oulton Park on the 2nd July, in preparation for the race there on the 27th July. I managed a 1:59.76 lap, which would have put us close to the front, based on the 2018 lap times.
There was supposed to be a test day on the Friday before the race, but this was switched to a regular open pit lane

Snetterton 300 - 12th May 2019 - Round 2 - MSV Trackday Championship
After a great opening round of the MSV Trackday Championship, which we discussed in our blog, and the terrible accident in the TDT on the same day, also discussed in this blog, we had a LOT of work to do to get the car ready for the next race.
Round 2 brought us to Snetterton, a circuit we had not been to since a very wet March 2018 when we launched the CitiGo. We had hoped to get the car ready for a trackday mid-week to do some testing, but things don't always go to plan, so the first outin

Donington Park - 7th April 2019 - MSV Trackday Trophy
Following on from the Trackday Championship Blog, we were also competing in the MSV Trackday Trophy.
The qualifying session was in the morning a few hours after the TDC session. I went out first, did the 3 mandatory laps, punched in a decent time (putting us P2 behind the Class C Lotus Elise of J & B Tucker with a 1:21.503) and then pulled into the pits to get Ryan out, since he had not driven the car all day.
Ryan went out and did some very consistent times, but was unable to improve our posi

Donington Park - 7th April 2019 - Round 1 - MSV Trackday Championship
With 2019 in full swing, we prepared our Ibiza TDI for the new racing season. The spec didn't really change that much from what we developed by the end of last year, we have some new 343mm 6 Pot Front Brakes and red paint on the front end finally!
After competing in a few races of the MSV Trackday Championship last year with a mixed bag of results, with a 5th place at Brands Hatch GP and almost a 2nd Place at Silverstone, we decided to commit to the full season. We are also going to run in some

Rockingham ISSC - 30th September 2018 - MSV Trackday Trophy Race
Round 6 of the MSV Trackday Trophy on Sunday 30th September 2018 in our Ibiza took us to Rockingham in Corby, Northamptonshire
We were testing on the Friday, which I wrote about here. After scratching our heads trying to work out why tyre temps were so crazy, we decided to remove the Gurneys on the front bumper. These were fitted to reduce airflow over the tyres, as the turbulence is bad for Aerodynamics. However, we thought that the benefit of getting air over the tyres would be greater tha

Rockingham ISSC - 28th September 2018 - MSV Trackday Trophy Testing
With the success of Round 5 of the MSV Trackday Championship a distant memory, and us ineligible to enter Round 6 as it requires an MSA National A licence (we are still a couple away from the 6 signatures to upgrade our B to an A), we decided to enter the Rockingham round of the MSV Trackday Trophy instead.
The rules are pretty much the same as the TDC, so our Ibiza was in Class B again. The main difference are the allowed Tyres. The TDC requires everyone to be on the same Toyo R888R GG Compoun
