Brands Hatch Indy - MSV SuperCup - 12th September
The next round of the SuperCup, took us all the way down South to Brands Hatch, on the short Indy Circuit.
With a busy schedule outside of racing, we were not able to do any testing before the race, which wouldn't have been much of a problem had we not being having the usual Golf nightmares!
The DSG box started causing issues on Wednesday night, sticking in gears. We figured it was a wiring or solenoid issue, both of which we had lost interest in trying to diagnose after countless hours tr

Silverstone GP - MSV SuperCup and Focus Cup - 15th-16th August
With only one week between our MSV Trackday Championship and EnduroKA success at Oulton Park (which you can read about here) and the next round of the SuperCup, we needed to get the car ready quickly, especially after we found a few niggles that we know would haunt us if we didn't get them sorted.
As the circuit is so big (and expensive to rent for over an hour), MSV decided to combine the SuperCup Grid with that of the TDC and Trackday Trophy. This meant we had a grid of over 50 cars, so i

Oulton Park - MSV Trackday Championship / EnduroKA - 8th August 2020
The first round of the MSV Trackday Championship was a proper stinker at Snetterton, with 2 DNFs in the Golf due to various issues (which you can read about here). Not to let this dampen our spirits, we came back to base and worked like crazy to iron out as many issues as possible before round 2 at Oulton Park in Cheshire, which comprised of a 45 minute Race in the Golf, then a 5 hour race in the EnduroKA. We did plan to also enter the Trackday Trophy in the Golf, but once bitten twice shy, we d

MSV End of Season Event - Trackday Trophy and SuperCup - Brands Hatch Indy - 16th November 2019
With the MSV Trackday Championship over with, we could have some fun. If you haven't read about the TDC Championship, click below:.
As the season finale, held at Brands Hatch in Kent, hosted the SuperCup and Trackday Trophy races on the same day as the TDC, we thought it would be pretty cool to do all 3 races. The timetable is below, with back to back qualifying sessions for all 3 races, then only a gap of around 1hr between the TDC and SuperCup Race, the team needed to be on point!

Zandvoort - 6th October 2019 - Round 5 - MSV SuperCup
While we were in Zandvoort for the MSV Trackday Championship we figured it would be cost effective to do 2 races in the weekend, since we were already here and set up, and we would not be getting the ferry until Monday evening. The race on Sunday was the MSV SuperCup which has very similar rules to the TDC, but free tyre choice and more aerodynamic mods are allowed. All we had to do in the Ibiza was take 10Kg of Ballast out (Forced induction requires only 20Kg in the SuperCup). You can read abou

Zandvoort - 5th October 2019 - Round 6 - MSV Trackday Championship
Round 5 of the MSV Trackday Championship was back at our favourite track, Donington. You can read about it here.
This time, Round 6 was the international round, at the newly announced F1 2020 Circuit Zandvoort. Right on the beach in North Holland, the circuit hosted the F1 from the 1950s all the way up to 1985, so there are parts of the track that are nowhere near the safety level of the modern GP Circuits!
The most straightforward route for us was to drive from Darkside HQ to Hull, which

Snetterton 300 - 12th May 2019 - Round 2 - MSV Trackday Championship
After a great opening round of the MSV Trackday Championship, which we discussed in our blog, and the terrible accident in the TDT on the same day, also discussed in this blog, we had a LOT of work to do to get the car ready for the next race.
Round 2 brought us to Snetterton, a circuit we had not been to since a very wet March 2018 when we launched the CitiGo. We had hoped to get the car ready for a trackday mid-week to do some testing, but things don't always go to plan, so the first outin

Donington Park - 7th April 2019 - Round 1 - MSV Trackday Championship
With 2019 in full swing, we prepared our Ibiza TDI for the new racing season. The spec didn't really change that much from what we developed by the end of last year, we have some new 343mm 6 Pot Front Brakes and red paint on the front end finally!
After competing in a few races of the MSV Trackday Championship last year with a mixed bag of results, with a 5th place at Brands Hatch GP and almost a 2nd Place at Silverstone, we decided to commit to the full season. We are also going to run in some

Using a Racelogic VBOX HD2 for Tyre Testing
We have posted many Blogs in the past, showing videos and images from our Racelogic VBOX HD2, but figured it would be a good idea to explain how we use the system in pursuit of faster lap times.Other than changing the driver (which can make a huge difference!), another important factor is the Tyre choice.
We currently race in the MSV Trackday Championship and MSV Trackday Trophy. In the TDC, Tyres must be Toyo R888R (GG Compound) or R888R, whereas in the TDT, they can be from the Motorspor
